Drs. Beck, Mathias, & Velez receive membership into the Gold Humanism Honor Society

Department of Psychiatry residents Brent Beck, Kenneth Mathias, and Lymaries Velez have been nominated by residents and selected by the committee to receive membership into the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS).

The mission of the Gold Humanism Honor Society is to recognize individuals who are exemplars of humanistic patient care and who can serve as role models, mentors, and leaders in medicine. Mathias and Velez are two of six resident/fellows from the University of Florida that have been selected by our UF Resident Chapter, the Chapman Society, of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Each year the students and the faculty board select faculty and residents or fellows for admission. Based upon a process involving peer and faculty nominations and review by the society members, they are selected for humanistic care of patients and service to colleagues.
